Whether you live by a Trader Joe’s or not, one thing is for sure: everyone is going crazy over this amazing seasoning! Yes, you could order seasoning off amazon, I’ve done it and I know many others that have too.
I just get satisfaction making my own seasonings, because I can control the ingredients. It’s something that I think saves money in the long run. I bought bulk spices from amazon because I knew once I made this I’d be hooked. I’m so glad I did because the first jar of seasoning I made was gone in 2 weeks! I had an obsession with Skinny Taste everything bagels, and we started making them every Sunday in our house. Needless to say, our seasoning went quickly in our house, but I didn’t mind since I knew I could easily make more.
I have to admit, when I first saw everyone going crazy over seasoning I didn’t get it. My husband always says I’m susceptible to advertising, and he’s right. I saw post after post on Facebook with people using the everything seasoning on eggs, avocados, and bagels. At that point, I was sold and needed to find a way to get my hands on some. I don’t have a Trader Joe’s close to my house, and I usually ask one of my best friends to pick up chai tea for me when she goes (Seriously guys, they have the best chai tea ever!). I was about to have her go on a run for me, but then realized I knew I’d want more of the seasoning, and didn’t want to bother her all the time. I created this recipe to get my fix.

The kids and I love to make Skinny Taste everything bagels. I love mixing it up and adding different toppings. For the Asiago bagels, I use the same Skinny taste recipe but top it with shredded Asiago cheese. I like mine cheesy, so I add about 1/2 cup shredded cheese to each bagel. I cook the bagels for about 25 min and then finish with a broil so the cheese gets nice and brown on top. Watch your bagels when you broil to make sure they don’t burn.
Finished bagels. My house smelled wonderful afterwards!
One of my absolute favorite ways to eat this seasoning is on a soft-boiled egg. To make the perfect soft- boiled egg boil water in a medium saucepan. I recommend only boiling 4 eggs at a time since you don’t want them to crack against each other and you want them to cook evenly. Once water starts to boil, gently drop eggs in with a ladle to avoid cracking. Continue boiling for 6 1/2 minutes (set your timer because timing is very important). When you hear the beep, drop eggs in an ice bath so they stop cooking. Peel eggs, cut in half, season and eat immediately with you favorite sides.
