Nothing is more satisfying than hearing a crunch sound after you bite down on this warm cheesy garlic herb bread. You’ll thank me later when you make it because its the best garlic bread you’ll ever eat.
I’ve been cooking for my kids for six years, and to this day Daddy is the only one who has the most requested dish in the house. It’s his “famous” pasta also known as fettuccine Alfredo. Don’t worry guys, that will be a blog post in the future.
While I love the fact that he gives me a break in the kitchen, I couldn’t have him be the only one impressing the kids, so I made the best garlic bread to accompany his famous pasta. The kids ate up every single bite, which was a shame because I was really hoping for leftovers the next day.
I used to buy frozen garlic bread for all of our pasta nights, but now that I know how quick and easy it is to make my own garlic bread I can never go back. The best part is you can make the garlic herb butter ahead of time and freeze it so you always have some on hand for your pasta nights. Another added benefit is that it’s a good way to use up herbs that are going bad. My favorite combination is basil and parsley, but if you like other Italian herbs and have them on hand go ahead and add them.
How many times have you bought herbs and only use a tiny tablespoon of the whole bunch that you bought? Lately I’ve been buying the actual plant from the produce section to save money, and sticking it on the ledge of my kitchen window. It gives my kitchen just enough color to brighten my day.
Chop fresh herbs: I used basil and parsley. Mince garlic, I use a . I highly recommend one because it saves time and you don’t even have to peel the garlic. You just stick it in and smash, then pull out the garlic peel before adding another one.Drizzle a small amount of olive oil onto the garlic.
In a mixing bowl add 1/2 cup softened butter along with the chopped herbs and garlic.
Mix together with a rubber spatula until well combined. If you find it hard to mix, you can microwave the butter for a few seconds. Don’t let it melt all the way.
My little foodie loves to help me in the kitchen. Here she is spreading the herb butter onto a sliced loaf of french bread. What a helper!
Next add 4 oz of cheese on each slice of bread.
Bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 15 min, finish with a broil until cheese becomes a nice golden color. Enjoy! You’ll thank me later because this is honestly the best garlic bread you’ll ever eat.
