The Three Little Foodies are back, and we’re excited to show you our favorite recipes, Pinterest successes…or fails, so you can have a wonderful home cooked meal at your dinner table!
Boy have I missed writing on here. It has been hectic in our house, and honestly I should write a whole blog on what it’s like to be a wife to a husband (and mother to three) who is working full time and studying for a Georgetown MBA.
Wow, I had no idea how our lives would shift with this school, and we had to learn how to parent in a new way, which ultimately meant squeeze in as much family time as possible when we can.
Thankfully we make a pretty good team, but I’m not going to lie… This last year has been stressful, so I chose to take a step back from blogging and focus on the family.
One year left, and guys I think we finally have a solid routine down and are anxiously awaiting that cap and gown.
I started this little food blog last year as a way to show my passion for cooking home-cooked meals for our children. Don’t get me wrong: we love to eat out, but feeding a family of five can get expensive so our main meals are usually cooked at home. My main struggle last year was realizing I’m a recipe reader not a recipe writer. I read cookbooks like a novel, and spend most days on my porch swing reading Bon Appetit, Food & Wine, and Eating Well magazines (also known as Mama’s quiet time).
It was hard managing how to create recipes, take “perfect” photos of my food, create content for this blog, and hello… raise my kids because lets all just say it now…being a stay at home mom is a lot of work! I was exhausted from seeing perfect “fake life” pictures on Instagram, and trying to find the next way to get my blog to boost readers, and it completely sucked the fun out of the blog and the whole reason why I started it in the first place.
So from here on out I am sticking to my original intent with this blog and showing you what we eat as a family. I’ll save the perfect fakeness for the off-chance my blog gets noticed and I can afford to hire someone to do that for me! For now, my original readers are getting real-life and, honestly, that’s what I want you to see anyways. Most of the time you won’t be reading my recipes, but sometimes you will. I will reference many Pinterest pins, other bloggers, and magazine/cookbooks. Hopefully you’ll find a family favorite dinner based on what we eat.
Happy cooking friends and, once again, thanks for being patient with this mom. You’re the best!
